Service public de Wallonie (SPW) is driving the Walloon transition towards sustainable development. The Department of Sustainable Development coordinates SDG policy, Circular Wallonia and climate and mobility plans, supports governments, companies and citizens and monitors the impact through strategy and progress reporting. In this way, SPW makes sustainability systemic and tangible throughout Wallonia.

Provincie Antwerpen

The Province of Antwerp supports 70 municipalities with services that balance housing, economy and nature. Through ‘Plan Today’, it is carrying out 200 climate actions on the way to climate neutrality by 2030, with ISO 14001 environmental management, fair-trade purchases, bicycle highways and circular construction hub Kamp C. In this way, the province makes sustainable development and SDG impact tangible locally.

SPF Economie – Point de contact national

The OECD guidelines are recommendations from governments to multinationals, regardless of where they operate. They deal with themes such as transparency, employment and human rights. The 46 National Contact Points worldwide monitor compliance and help resolve disputes through consensus-based methods such as mediation and conciliation.

The Global Challenges Department coordinates development cooperation for the Flemish government, with a focus on Southern Africa, support in Flanders, and humanitarian aid. It ensures policy coherence, manages relations with multilateral institutions, oversees part of Flanders’ climate financing, and monitors policy and international trade in strategic climate-related goods.
