Biodiversity
Biodiversity loss limits our resources, disrupts ecosystems and threatens our long-term prosperity. Every sector is affected by this global challenge.

How can we tackle this together?
Restoring the ecosystems on which we depend starts with understanding our impact. By working with partners to shift from an extractive to a regenerative approach and organising supply differently, organisations can actively contribute to both the conservation and the restoration of biodiversity.
In The Shift’s communities of practice, you’ll work with peers and experts to develop and strengthen your biodiversity strategy:

Biodiversity in every link
At Vandemoortele, Sustainability Officer Laura Iacobelli works on a chain that respects nature. No loose initiatives, but a well thought-out strategy that connects business and biodiversity.

What we stand for
More than half of global GDP is dependent on nature. This highlights the importance of working together to conserve and repair ecosystems, which are at the root of prosperity and economic stability. Members of The Shift implement strategies to protect biodiversity in accordance with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and take concrete steps towards a ‘nature-positive’ economy.
The government should provide clear frameworks with limits, stricter rules and mandatory reporting.
