Communities of practice

Looking for an action plan to take your organisation to net zero in a science-based and hands-on way? Or looking for the best tips from fellow companies and experts to involve your supply chain in your climate action plan? In a community of practice, you get to work with a regular group for an extended period of time to find innovative solutions to shared climate challenges.

Belgian Alliance for Climate Action

The Belgian Alliance for Climate Action (BACA) was founded in 2020 by The Shift and WWF-Belgium to connect organisations with a shared ambition to accelerate the transition towards a climate-neutral society. The initiative focussed on taking concrete climate action through Science-Based Targets, peer learning, interactive workshops and inspiring events.

Decarbonised Supply Chains

On average, supply chain emissions are more than 11 times higher than a company’s direct emissions. In other words, Scope 3 plays a key role in any decarbonisation process. In this community of practice, you will exchange ideas with fellow professionals to provide clear strategies to mobilise suppliers and reduce emissions on a large scale.

Journey to Net Zero

The climate challenge is growing and European regulations are changing rapidly. Organisations need to think ahead and act purposefully. In this community of practice, you will join forces with other pioneers. You will translate your climate ambitions into effective actions and, supported by a scientific framework, work on a well-founded and future-proof net zero strategy.

I believe that circularity is becoming increasingly important. Decarbonisation is obviously a key driver in this regard, but it also addresses other pressing challenges such as biodiversity loss and strengthens resilient supply chains.

The program has made part of my job easier. The step of contacting someone with a question has become smaller, and that exchange provides direct insights for our own organization.

In addition to data knowledge, it is important to be in touch with your suppliers. That’s why we invited them to sign a charter to gain insight into where they stand on their path to net zero.
